Most audiences love this show, though economists may leave feeling a little less smug. Epic Economics runs during the second and third week of the Fringe at Paradise in the Vault near Grassmarket at 12:15pm.

Discover how the economy shapes everything — who gets rich, who struggles, and what we fight about. This irreverent play puts the economists who shaped our world on trial — with humour, mischief and a damn good time along the way. From a free-market advocate to an economist deeply worried about inequality, and many more in between. The writer couldn't resist weaving in some of his own real-life stories from an LSE occupation to a World Bank mission in Colombia—with wicked humour, songs and an invitation to spectators to engage with the question: What would you protest about today?

The writer/performer is a veteran of the London School of Economics, the World Bank, the corporate C-suite and business consulting. The producer/composer, a musician and tech expert, created an original soundscape capturing the contributions, contradictions and confusion surrounding economics today. Together they worked with Lia Haraki, one of Cyprus's leading performance artists, who directed the show. The play premiered in sold-out performances in Cyprus and, after the Fringe, it will be staged at the prestigious Michael Cacoyannis Centre in Athens.
