I’ve now been in post as the new IT Officer at Sistema Scotland for just about four months! This role combines my technical background with the chance to work for a charity that actually makes a difference. Sistema Scotland runs the “Big Noise” programmes, using music to support children and young people across Scotland—from babies to school-leavers.
I’ll be supporting around 190 staff members by managing infrastructure, maintaining SharePoint and Dynamics 365 systems, and handling cybersecurity training. The role is hybrid, so I’ll be visiting Big Noise centers in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling, Dundee, and Aberdeen. I’m looking forward to seeing the program in action so I can make sure the technology properly supports the work the musicians do every day. It’s great to join an organization focused on the wellbeing of children and families.

Where Angels Fear to Tread is a folk horror film set in a remote village in the Scottish Highlands. It follows Roselyn, a woman haunted by a past abusive relationship who relocates to the area to work as a wildlife conservationist, hoping for isolation and a fresh start. Instead, she finds herself trapped in a community with a dark and dangerous undercurrent and must escape the sinister situation she has unknowingly stepped into.
Inspired by Scottish Kelpie mythology, the film explores cycles of domestic abuse and violence against women and animals, examining how hyper-masculinity and misogyny persist quietly within society. Horses run throughout the film as a central metaphor. Controlled, bridled, and beaten rather than free, they mirror Roselyn’s experience as a survivor and her ongoing fight to reclaim autonomy.
Blending Celtic myth with psychological horror, Where Angels Fear to Tread reclaims the monstrous feminine to reflect real world dangers that are often dismissed or ignored. In the UK, violence against women has been declared a national emergency, yet these stories are rarely represented on screen, particularly in rural settings. This film confronts that silence head on, using atmospheric and unsettling horror to tell a story rooted in truth and transformation.
We are shooting this film under the new production company Black Magpie productions - co-founded by the producer, director and writer of this film. The company was founded to create Scottish folk horror films in an anthology format; the films will speak to each other and centre around the themes of the female experience, Scottish folklore and nature.
Our fundraising goal of £2,500 goes directly into the practical costs of making the film safely and professionally. There is no excess built in; every contribution goes toward what appears on screen. The company will not be using any of the fundraiser to pay themselves, it will all simply go on making this story come to life.

Epic Economics is a theatrical work based on the words of distinguished economists from the 18th century to today, highlighting their contributions and contradictions. The theories are interwoven with stories from the performer’s own personal and professional journey, and peppered with wicked humor and some songs. The show is accompanied by an original soundscape.
How does your breakfast make its way to your table? Why do you have an imported car? Who creates value? Why do we have recessions? What’s more important: growth of the economy or equality? Economics is sometimes revered as a nebulous subject best left to “experts” and sometimes simplified to populist pseudo-science. This play promises to explore the nebulae and expose the pretenders.
“The purpose of studying economics is not to acquire a set of ready-made answers to economic questions, but to learn how to avoid being deceived by economists.” — Joan Robinson
“The only function of economic forecasting is to make astrology look respectable.” — JK Galbraith

Seascape is a reflection of the ways in which the sea has and continues to influence the lives of those inhabiting its bounded lands. It is an ode to the ecosystem, both local and global. It alludes to the web of human relationships that hold our fragile ecology together; the engraved and printed nets emerge through the natural beauty of the sea and the flow of its waves. The crowds of humans who weave their own uncertain journeys across the Mediterranean are also part of this narrative.
The sound similarly explores this reflection; a dialogue seems to exist between the wind instrument and wind itself, between the natural sound of waves and the aquatic, submerged world. This dialogue appears to break down, eroded by the will of the wave, signalling an emergent need to extend our boundaries of thought. The viewer is invited to expand their framework of care, extending it to other humans and perhaps even non-human entities and environments.

The Descent is an experimental feminist body-horror film that seeks to challenge the status quo of how the Monstrous Feminine is portrayed in the horror genre. The film uses mise-en-scêne to transport the viewer into a shadowy world, where we explore what lies beneath the surface through a series of digital physical theatrical performances.
Directed by Holly Lawrenson Evans, read more about the project on her website.
Electroacoustic Performance

Live Electroacoustic performance inspired by this cigarette commercial from the 80s; allegedly one of the last ones to ever air on television or in cinemas.
